Although Israel has retired from Sligo's Administrative and Treasurer duties, he continues to share his time and expertise in ministry for seniors. He serves as director of the 55+ Club, organizing activities, trips, as well as bus transportation for seniors to come to church each week. A natural artist, Israel creates spectacular displays of food sculpture and flower arrangements. He and his wife, Rosella, a physician, have a daughter, Gigi, and two grandchildren.

Larry joined the Staff of Sligo Adventist School (SAS) in 2005 as principal. He with his wife, Molly, and two daughters moved to the Washington, D.C. area from Las Vegas, Nevada.
Larry's philosophy of education is to develop in each child a sense of spiritual need for Jesus Christ and a longing to serve Him and others with a focus on the ultimate goal, heaven. His aim for SAS is to create a school environment: where students learn to grow by serving each other and enhance personal self-worth; where students learn about accountability, responsibility and dependability; where there is an atmosphere of encouragement, mutual respect, honesty and truthfulness between teacher, student and parent.

Flor serves the church as a secretary with various responsibilities including using her degree in accounting to assist the church treasurer, handle scheduling and other helper activities to support the Pastoral Staff. She enjoys singing with the Sligo Friends musical group as well as cooking and shopping. Flor and her husband, Joevel, have a son, Patrick. She sees Sligo as a place where people can develop skills in the areas of leadership and music.

Theresa is a Columbia Union College graduate. Her Journalism major is beneficial in her secretarial position and church clerk responsibilities. She enjoys reading, hiking and various outdoor activities with her husband, Joaquin. Theresa's vision is for Sligo Church to continue to be a caring and supportive community.

Charlotte has come out of retirement to serve as interim treasurer for Sligo Church. With her husband, Bob, she has served in various Seventh-day Adventist institutions around the world from Mississippi to Beirut, Lebanon, to Takoma Park, Maryland. She has also shared her gifts with the Sligo community through the years in many roles such as finance committee chair, local elder, deaconess, nominating committee, church board, hospitality ministry, and music to name a few. Charlotte and Bob have 4 children, John, Sharon, Dan, and Rob, and 4 grandchildren.

Kris is a graduate of Columbia Union College and has been a member of the Sligo community his entire life. As a multi-talented young man, he is a great help to the pastoral staff with the variety of tasks he can do. Kris shares his musical talent on the bass guitar with the New Community Fellowship ministry as well as helps out with the young adult Sabbath School. One of the special aspects of the Sligo family, according to Kris, is the diversity he finds here. In his spare time Kris enjoys music, reading, and hiking.

Jackie’s warm and friendly personality blends well with her receptionist responsibility at the church office. She is studying theology at Columbia Union College and occasionally preaches at area churches. Jackie loves to sing and uses her musical talent in the church choir and New Community Fellowship Praise Team. The young adult ministry is another area of Sligo where Jackie devotes her time and talent. Many at Sligo share her feelings about her church: “Sligo is home and I love the diversity here.”

Sam has been part of the Sligo family since childhood. He says “Sligo is my second home.” As well as keeping the grounds looking great, Sam describes himself as the “all-around-do-it guy” taking care of various maintenance and repair jobs around the church. He enjoys reading, birding, gardening, and family activities with his wife, Stephanie, and children, Noelle and Nathan.

Daniel Young has lived in the area since birth at the Prince Georges County Hospital. He joined the Sligo Church by baptism in 1996. His life centers around his two daughters and his work. He loves the Lord and is happy to be serving Him by working as Sligo's custodian.
